The stream was revealed in this week’s catecholism, with anthem developer BioWare confirming that it will be removing Luck Stat from gear in an upcoming update.
Players have been left with more and more questions ever since developer BioWare started talking about how luck worked in the anthem. How did fate affect the drops? Did it make loot more effective or did it improve the quality of loot? These and more were some of the questions that anthem players constantly ask the Bioware devs, but they may eventually be eliminated. Anthem removing Luck Stat from the game.
At this week’s Anthem Livestream, BioWare gave the players their first look at the upcoming Cataclysm event. The developers still wanted to show the players as much of the mystery around the Holocaust as possible as possible. At the same time, Devas gave the audience some details about the future update, which started with the removal of Destiny.
Once the update goes live, Anthem players will change any gear or weapons to the arm state. It is unclear whether the luck percentage will affect the amount of armor that players receive, but it is arguably the best option. So many anthem figures have been hit or miss, but few people can avoid additional losses.
Although the Lucky Stat will no longer roll on the gear, it is not going away completely. At the same time, Bioware removes Luck stats from gear, this will increase the player’s built-in Luck to the maximum. So instead of one player having better chances of getting masterwork or legendary gear, all players will be on the same level.
At the very least, it is good to see that BioWare admitted its flaws with Lucky State and eventually removed it from the game. Luck has been a major source of frustration for those grinding gears and it was never ideal to try to focus on drops while losing damage or armor.
Nevertheless, even if luck is gone, many anthem players will argue that loot is still a long way into the game. Maybe with everyone the maximum luck post-update things will be different, but we’ll have to wait and see.
The Anthem is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
