With increased texture quality and new graphic settings, GTA 5 and Xbox Series X|S are now available on PS 5

GTA 5: Expanded & Enhanced Edition, as well as the Standalone edition of GTA Online, will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 15, 2022. This page lists all of the improvements and upgrades made to GTA 5 and GTA Online in the New-Generation edition. 


Grand Theft Auto V makes a stunning transition to its third console generation, some 9 years after its original release, after having already been upgraded for PS4 and Xbox One in 2014. Stay tuned to this page for more information on GTA 5 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. 

The remastered versions of GTA 5 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S include new graphical modes such as up to 4K resolution, 60 frames per second framerate, enhanced texture quality, HDR choices, and ray tracing. 



On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, GTA 5 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as the standalone edition of GTA Online, will release digitally through the PlayStation 5 console store and the Windows Store. 

GTA V and Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S were released physically a month later, on April 12, 2022. GTA 5 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is normally $39.99, but for the first three months (until June 14), it’s only $9.99 on PlayStation 5 (75 percent off), and $19.99 on Xbox Series X|S. 

What about the personal computer? The Grand Theft Auto V Expanded & Enhanced edition will not be released on PC at this time. It may appear in a future Title Update. After all, the PC version already supports 4K quality and Sixty frames a second, two characteristics claimed for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, so a separate release may not be necessary. 


The Grand Theft Auto 5 V Spread & Improved Edition for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S includes several technical changes, graphics upgrades, and performance improvements that allow the game to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making it more attractive and responsive than ever. 

New Features in GTA 5 & GTA Online for PS5 & Xbox Series X|S 

1- New graphics modes with resolutions up to 4K and frame rates up to 60 frames per second have been added. 

2- Texture quality and draw distance have both been improved. 

3- Options for ray-tracing and HDR. 

4- Character switching and loading times are faster.

7- Improved lighting in shadows and water reflections

9- Population growth and traffic diversification 

10- Anti-aliasing, motion blur, and improved gameplay 

when the game was proven to enhance for PS4 and Xbox One, this new PS5 and Xbox Series X|S editions do not include any playable changes or new Story Mode content; the core of the game stayed relatively the same. Returning players will also receive no bonus content
