A few weeks ago, I watched the 2018 Summerslam event. I’ve been a wrestling fan for many years now and there are always some matches that stand out more than others. This post is my thoughts on the event, which is really just an excuse to express my opinions about all of the matches. Let’s get started with my favourite moments from this year’s Summerslam event. Here is my Summerslam 2018 review.

The Biggest Moments
There were a lot of big moments at Summerslam, but the two that stood out to me the most were Brock Lesnar’s appearance and Roman Reigns turning heel.
Brock Lesnar made his return from his UFC heavyweight title defence by defeating Daniel Cormier in their MMA fight, which was a rematch from UFC 200 in 2016. After this match, he came out for his Summerslam match against Baron Corbin and defeated him within seconds. This was a great moment because it was a fast, strong win.

Roman Reigns turned heel during his Summerslam match against Bobby Lashley by attacking Lio Rush with a steel chair. After the bell rang to signify the end of the match, Reigns continued to attack Lashley. The crowd loved this moment because they knew that Reigns had finally embraced being a villain, which is something that they’ve been wanting from him for years. It was also an exciting time for the WWE because it turned back into what it used to be: good guys vs bad guys!
Favorite Match
My favourite match of the night was the fatal four-way main event for the WWE Championship. I’ve watched all of these superstars wrestle against one another numerous times, but it felt like every time they met in the ring, their chemistry always increased. The result was a fast-paced match with some incredible action.

Least Favorite Match
The first match I want to talk about was the Women’s Championship match. This was the third time these two superstars had faced each other in a singles contest and unfortunately, the last one.
Sasha Banks and Bayley delivered an entertaining match, but what made it my least favourite was how it ended. I’m not going to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t seen this yet, but Bayley won and then eliminated Sasha from the ring with a hug. It felt really sudden and anticlimactic to me which is why this is my least favourite moment from Summerslam 2018.
More Thoughts about the Event
The main event for this Summerslam was a tag team match between The Bludgeon Brothers and The Usos for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. It was a fast-paced, high-octane match that had me on the edge of my seat. I always love it when superstars do signature moves that they normally don’t do in their matches, and both teams did that repeatedly with their signature moves. It felt like they were going all out to make sure they left a lasting impression on the audience before the match ended.
Another great moment from this Summerslam event was Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley for the WWE Universal Championship. Lashley has been Brock’s opponent multiple times before and some people might think those matches are repetitive.
But those who watch them know how much work goes into those matches and they can see how hard these two men work to put on a show during each one of them. This specific match left me feeling satisfied because there were so many spots where I wasn’t sure if Lashley would be able to get up, but he did!
A couple more thoughts about Summerslam:
-I’m not happy about Braun Strowman’s injury and hope that he recovers quickly and is one of the biggest wrestling events of the year, Summerslam, took place last night. With some new matches and some old ones, there was something for everyone. This is my take on the event.
