The release date of Overwatch 2 has not yet been shared after the game was announced at BlizzCon 2019. Blizzard and its team of developers have kept the game and any relevant information under a tight seal.
Recent Amazon listings finally managed to get some insight into how the game is being developed and when fans will be watching it in the market, safely placed.

Overwatch 2 release date possibly teased in late 2021
An Amazon listing, found and shared by Overwatch insider Naeri, describes an Overwatch 2 artbook as “sneak peek” into the game. It also lists a book not available until October 2021.
The book’s availability date has given rise to some theories about Overwatch 2’s release date. Some people have seen this as a sign that the game will be released around October 2021, which would be a good time for the game to be announced in 2019. Less optimistic theories point to a “sneak peek” staple of the description and assume that the game will not come out until several months after the release of the artbook.
Of course, there is no way to verify any theories about the game’s release date until an official announcement from Blizzard has been made. The reason for the lack of information about the game’s release is that BlizzCon 2020 was canceled due to COVID-19. BlizzCon 2021 is still planned at this time and some light can be shed on the game.
