All the available Risk of Rain 2 challenges and how to complete them.
The Skills 2.0 update introduces the risk of Rain 2 challenges that unlock new skills and skins for the survivors (at least on PC – they’re coming to console this winter). Each survivor has two to four challenges, and each challenge unlocks a skill boost or an alternate skin. The risk of Rain 2 challenges varies greatly in difficulty and complexity, so we’ve put together a guide to show all available challenges and how to complete them. If you need help getting a new survivor, check out our Risk of Rain 2 character unlock guide.
Remember that you can double the progress of your challenge via the logbook in the main menu, which is especially handy as developer Hopu Games says more challenges will be added in the future. Whatever it is, here today all the risks of the Rain 2 challenges are available. Note that you have to complete these challenges as a prescribed character.
Rolling Thunder: Murder shock on an overloading worm. Getting an overloading worm to spawn is largely a matter of luck, but you can increase your odds by activating two or more Shrines of the Mountain in a phase where the lava worm can be like a spawn, such as the Rallypoint Delta and Abyssal Depth. If you are playing solo, it should be easy to get the final blow provided you have no drones or followers active. If you are playing with friends, ask them to return when the boss falls short.
Incorrect: Apparent 20 steps in a single run without picking up any lunar objects. It is very straightforward: It is easy to make things more manageable and clear in 20 steps, avoiding the lunar pods. It is not easy, but it is easy.
Mastery: Disappearing yourself in the obelisk on monsoon difficulty. In other words, clarify the seven steps on monsoon difficulty, move the Celestial Portal to the obelisk, and choose the illiterate option. Again, not easy, but very straightforward. The only real advice here is: do your best.
Gotcha !: The killing blow lands on a small overlord with the Preteen Accumulator. The Preon Accumulator is a tool item that you unlock by opening a specific chest in the Rallypoint Delta within 10 minutes of starting your run. You can find out more about the risk of our Rain 2 item guide. Once you unlock it, play until you get a small overlord for the spawn, get it to lower health, then blast it with Preon.
Pest Control: Leave two beetle queens without a telephone zone. Multiple bosses will start spawning later waves, but you can guarantee multiple bosses using the Shrine of the Mountain. The Beetle Queen often roams in the early stages such as distant roasts, Titanic plains, abandoned aqueducts and wetlands aspects, so this should not be too difficult. Just stay inside the red telescope bubble when you fight two queens. Note that this will work even if there are more than two Beetle Queens spawn.
Mastery: Disappearing yourself in the obelisk on monsoon difficulty. Same as above: Pull your giant robot socks up and clear the seven stages on monsoon difficulty, then move the Celestial Portal to the obelisk and choose the illiterate option.
Piercing Wind: Start and finish the Rallypoint Delta without falling below 100% health. It is difficult, no matter what is happening, but the challenge is greater than ‘Never harm in Rallypoint Delta.’ The keyword here is health. Shields are fair game, so things that give extra shields or replace your health with shields will help here. Pukhraj Broach, in particular, is great for this. Either way, you need to play carefully.
One Shot, One Kill: Collect and carry 12 crowbar at once. Crowbar is a common white item, so 12 embassings should not take too long. Double-check vending machines for crowbers, focus on opening small chests that give more white items and keep your eyes open for Crocker 3D printers.
Mastery: Disappearing yourself in the obelisk on monsoon difficulty. Same as above: Crack your knuckles on monsoon difficulty in all cool-like and clear seven steps, then take the Celestial Portal on the Obelisk and choose the illiterate option.

Better with friends: recruit 12 minutes at a time. In this case, the minions are drones and other followers. Therefore, you can snatch every drone. It is possible that the ghosts are summoned via Happiest Mask Legendary and the drones generated by the back-up equipment count towards the Minion total of this challenge, but we have not yet tested. In any case, drones on the ground will be more reliable.
100% Calculated: Telco defeats Boss in less than five seconds. Basically melt a boss. This should not be too difficult. Use your favorite, most broken build, put your turrets down, dress up your equipment (and / or friends), then activate the teleporter and summon a very unfortunate boss. It can be any boss at any stage on any difficulty, but if you have it in the first five stages or so, you will have better luck, in this way you will have to track down and struggle. Many tankers are not bosses.

Orbital Bombardment: Kill 15 enemies before touching the ground. Just jump or hover over a large group of enemies and let loose. You can soften them before you take things to the sky to make them easier. If you’re having trouble, try jumping from a high point and using a mobility item like Hopu Feather.
Carnage: Perform a multiple of 20 enemies. For this challenge, you need to kill 20 enemies at exactly the same moment in a single attack. The Artificers Charged Nano-Bomb is great for this. Stack some AOE items, soften a group of 20 or more enemies, take the herds together, and give it to them.
Swindle !: Defeated the telecom boss completely in a one-second loss. Rain 2’s risky items are so random that there’s no obvious way to do it – just play for a while until you have a billion items, then melt the boss. The most important thing is not to accidentally harm the boss before leaving it. Keep your equipment ready, make sure all your abilities are off, and loose.
Mastery: Disappearing yourself in the obelisk on monsoon difficulty. Same as above: Put on your best sunglasses and clean the seven steps on monsoon difficulty, then move the Celestial Portal to the obelisk and choose the illiterate option.
Monster of the Sky: Do not touch the ground for 30 seconds. This is a lot easier than you might think, with a melee character of the mercenaries. With a few Hopu wings and a slight lack of Colddown, the mercenaries can remain in the air indefinitely, using their dash attack. Hardlight Afterburner Legendary alone will do a lot. Just find a swarm of flying enemies and bounce between them with your dash.
Ether: Complete a prismatic test without falling below 100% health. It’s not as bad as it sounds – the prismatic test is too short and easily repeated – but you have to be careful because Mercury is a melee character. Take any shield item, tread cautiously, and use your Eviscerate Panic’s invincibility window wisely.
Mastery: Disappearing yourself in the obelisk on monsoon difficulty. Same as above: On the monsoon difficulty make your sword as attractive and clear as possible in seven steps, then move the Celestial Portal to the Obelisk and choose the illiterate option.
Bushwheck: Complete an entire teleporter event under 50% of age. Note that this is just a telephone event, not an entire stage. In other words, you need to be below 50% health at the point you activate a telephoner at the point you use it to leave the stage, which means you have to kill the boss and half. The telephone has to be fully charged under health. Get yourself less than 50% of health benefits before activating telecom and then ration your healing abilities to make sure you don’t go more than half. Be especially careful when using your Tangling Growth AoE, as it provides a lot of healing. In fact, just to be safe, you probably shouldn’t use it. Oh, and spam your seed barrage to keep your health low if it starts ticking.
Mastery: Disappearing yourself in the obelisk on monsoon difficulty. Same as above: Pull all four of your socks up and clear the seven steps on the monsoon difficulty, then take the Celestial Portal to the Obelisk and choose the illiterate option.
By Swing: Reach and enter the celestial portal within 25 minutes. This challenge is only of a true-blue speedron. You have to clear the seven steps in 25 minutes and enter the divine portal. This is easier than it sounds, but it will take some doing. Playing at easy difficulty will make things well, but it will still require a tight game.
Mastery: Disappearing yourself in the obelisk on monsoon difficulty. Also as above: Tighten your helmet and clear the seven steps on the monsoon, then move the Celestial Portal to the obelisk and choose the slant option.
