Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath shrines walkthrough

Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath shrines
Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath shrines

The Dueling Peaks T ower in the two temples Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath are again somewhat different from other shrines – no physics- or rune-based puzzle to figure it out. All you have to do is visit both the pilgrimages and remember what you see.

Here’s the spoiler: You have to make the floor in Shea Veneth like the floor in Shea Venier and vice versa. We’re going to tell you about how you can get it on your own, or you can just skim over it and drop down to the bottom, where we’ve figured out the solution.

  • Head into Shea Venier – It is very high up the cliff on the south side of the river. After riding the elevator down, turn left. Ride the stage to get a view of the floor. Take a screenshot or draw a picture of yourself (or scroll down a bit). The arrangement of the balls in the bowl that you are seeing here is how you have to make the floor of Xi Weneth.
  • Take the lift back up and across the river to Shee Vaneer and drop paraglide Shee Venath – it is to the north and a little to the west and at a low elevation.
  • Take the lift to Xi Weneth and turn right. Ride the stage to get a look on the floor here. Take another screenshot or take another picture (or scroll down) – this is the arrangement you need for the sheer wren.
  • Drop to the floor and start moving the balls to see how Sheen Veneer looked when you first came.
  • When the door opens, head through. Turn left, climb the ladder and revolve your soul.
  • When you leave, go back across the river and climb up to Xi Wen again. Go back to your map and fast trip to Shea Veneer to save yourself from time and frustration. Take the elevator down and re-arrange the balls to match your screenshot from Shea Weneth.
  • A ladder on your doorway when the door opens. Claim the hard work you have earned.

This is the active bowl arrangement that you see inside the shea veneer. You need to arrange the balls in Xi Weneth in such a way as to claim the soul orb.

Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath are two of the many Shrines located throughout Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The challenge inside, named the Twin Memories trial, is a puzzle that has you memorise the positions of balls on the floor in each shrine, and recreate them in the other. Get it right, and you can walk out a success.

If you need help finding and solving other Shrines, our Shrine location maps page can help, while our Zelda: Breath of the Wild walkthrough and guide covers other aspects of the game.

Where to find Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath

The Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath shrines are located within the Dueling Peaks region, specifically with the Shee Vaneer Shrine at the very tip of the southern peak, and the Shee Venath shrine just down from the top of the northern peak, on a ledge in the south-facing side of cliff.

To get there, we recommend starting with the Shee Vaneer shrine, and climbing up via the south side of the mountain. Look for ledges as places to stop and catch your breath. Once you’ve been inside that shrine, paraglide down from that peak to the north, where you can see the Shee Venath shrine.

Aside from needing to get info from both of the shrines to solve each other, there’s no puzzle to solve here in order to access the shrines themselves, so simply dive in when you’re ready.

Shee Venath and Shee Vaneer Twin Memories trial solution

As we alluded to above, the solutions to these two shrines involve visiting and paying close attention to both. On entering either, you’ll see a small plaque with the following hint:

“The shrines atop these peaks share a connection – their memory the answer to the other’s question. Commit to memory before you start, lest, a failure, you will depart.”

What does that mean? Well, each shrine is filled with a 5 x 5 grid of sockets, with a single ball in a socket in each row. You need to memorise the location of the balls in one shrine, and replicate them in the other – and vice versa – in order to solve the two puzzles.

First up, use the elevating platform to get a better view of the floor. The orders are, from left to right and top row to bottom, as you’d read a book:

  • Shee Vaneer Shrine – balls start at 2nd, 4th, 1st, 3rd, 5th positions.
  • Shee Venath Shrine – balls start at 5th, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 2nd positions.

Before jumping down off that platform though, stop for a second. You may have noticed on the way up that there’s actually a small platform the other side of the elevator.

Once at the top, paraglide round to the other end of that platform, around the wall, to find a smaller ledge with a chest on it. There’s one of these in each of the shrines, and they contain some valuable loot!

Now, simply rearrange the balls in each chamber to the positions of the balls in the opposite shrine, and you’ll pass through. Remember we ordered them from left to right, one row at a time from farthest away to closest, as you’d look down at them from the platform.
