Google appreciates those on the COVID-19 battle front through an animated Google Doodle series ‘Thank You: Coronavirus Helpers’
Appreciating the role of frontline warriors in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, on Tuesday (September 15), Google dedicated an animated doodle to corona warriors. From doctors, teachers, nurses, packaging, shipping and delivery workers, emergency service providers, chefs, transportation workers to farmers, sanitation workers, and teachers, the Google Doodle thanks everyone. The two ‘O’ in the ‘Google’ feature the caricatures of all the frontline warriors with red hearts floating above them. Hearts in the Google Doodle are a symbol of immense love and gratitude for the COVID warriors.
Google Doodle’s quirky appreciation for those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 battle was initially shared by Google during the first phase of the coronavirus induced lockdown in India. On April 6, Google had launched a two week Doodle series titled ‘Thank You: Coronavirus Helpers’ to recognise and honour all those who have exceeded their call of duty by putting their own lives at risk—to provide services to keep things functional under unprecedented circumstances.
As COVID-19 continues to impact communities around the world, people are coming together to help one another now more than ever. We’re launching a Doodle series to recognize and honor many of those on the front lines. Today, we’d like to say: To all coronavirus helpers, thank you, Google had posted on its website.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted about the series, “Starting today, we’re launching a #GoogleDoodle series to honor many of those on the front lines in the fight against #COVID19. Today’s doodle is dedicated to the public health workers and researchers in the scientific community – on behalf of all of us, thank you.”

As part of the doodle series, each doodle was dedicated to one of the COVID warriors. For example, on 16 April, Google Doodle praised the commendable effort of food service workers on the frontline. Take a look at the quirky google doodle:

As with all of our doodles, we hope that the series allows for helpers everywhere to see, hear, and feel that everyone can feel like a long tunnel to remember. Because where there is help, there is hope, Jessica Yu, the doodle team lead, said in an official blog post.
Google is spreading awareness through its doodles and social media by taking precautions against deadly viruses and dos and don’ts in the fight against COVID-19. On August 5, the Google Doodle was dedicated to one of the basic COVID-19 preventive measures – wearing a face mask. Animated doodles depict GOOGLE who observe social distance to develop legs, wear masks of different colors and patterns, and protect themselves and everyone else. The doodle is attached to a public service announcement (PSA) – ‘Wear a mask. save lives. Wear a face cover. Wash your hands Maintain a safe distance. ‘
“Thank you for maintaining a distance of six feet in August”, Google posted in late August, reminding people of the importance of social distance, as an important precautionary step as gradual lockout in India Was being raised
